The Review Divergence Index
The AI tools where G2 and Trustpilot disagree the most — and the ones they agree on. Same products, two review sites, two very different verdicts. Every number below is the real public rating and review count from each source.
We read the same AI tools across many sources, and one pattern is impossible to miss: the review sites contradict each other constantly. A tool can be a 4.6 on G2 and a 3.1 on Trustpilot in the same month. It's not that one is lying — they attract different reviewers, measuring different things. This page ranks that gap across every tool we cover with ratings on both sites, so you can see the disagreement before you trust a single number.
On a credible-sample basis (at least 100 reviews on both sides), the widest splits right now are Krisp (4.66 vs 3.1, a 1.56-point gap), ElevenLabs (4.5 vs 3.1, a 1.40-point gap), and Otter.ai (4.4 vs 3.3, a 1.10-point gap).
The full divergence ranking
Ranked by the gap between G2 and Trustpilot star ratings. Review counts are shown because a 2-point gap on thousands of reviews means far more than one on a handful — small samples are marked.

Why the two sites systematically disagree
The gap isn't random. G2 skews business and developer users evaluating software for work — features, integrations, support — and its reviews are often collected via vendor invites, which pulls the average up. Trustpilot skews individual consumers who show up after a billing, pricing, or cancellation experience — so it catches the friction a business-focused site misses, but over-weights the frustrated. A big split usually isn't "good vs. bad." It's "works for its target buyer, frustrates casual users" — and the friction is very often about money.
The tools both sites agree on
When G2 and Trustpilot agree — and both are high — that's the most trustworthy signal you can get: broad, consistent satisfaction across very different reviewer bases. The most aligned tools we track are Retell AI (4.8/4.9), Fathom (5.0/4.8), Fireflies.ai (4.7/4.4), and Synthflow (4.5/4.1).
How to read a divergence
- Trust the source whose reviewers look most like you — G2 for team/business buyers, Trustpilot for solo consumers worried about billing.
- Treat a big gap as a question, not an answer: go read why they disagree (usually pricing or cancellation).
- Discount tiny samples — a low score from a handful of reviews is noise, not signal (we mark these above).
- Weigh independent communities (Reddit, Hacker News) above either review site — they aren't vendor-collected and aren't dominated by the angry.
This index is built directly from the ratings on each tool's verdict page and updates as we refresh them. See our methodology for how we gather and weight sources, or the full write-up on why review sites disagree.
